Hannah l Curtis - Muslim Artist

 I reverted to Islam in 2007. My spiritual journey has not only changed my whole way of life but has inspired my latest creative works. 

My ongoing interest with the human form has inspired notions of womanhood, modesty, community and reflection. 

My new found identity as a practising Muslim, has made me feel the need to address misconceptions i once had about Islam. Shown through my personal expierence i hope to enlighten the viewer.

My senses have been opened up to a whole new variety of colours and texts and my approach to using the human form has had to be made permissible. 

Having found myself using Art as a outlet during school, I carried on throughout college and recently graduated in 2009 from The Cardiff school of Art and Design. 

I am now Spending my time filling each day with a creative outlet, be it journalling, collage, sewing, painting or writing.

I specialise in a variety of techniques in a range of mediums, therefore I would class myself as a mixed media artist more than a ceramicist.
